Kristin Peterson Honoured as a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2013
We’re proud to announce that Kristin Peterson, Inveneo’s co-founder and CEO, has been selected by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship as a Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2013. The winners were selected in recognition of their innovative approaches to solving pressing social issues and potential for global impact.
The announcement was made on the Huffington Post as an article with video and a slideshow, as well as a live video broadcast this morning. The Schwab Foundation has also posted the full listing of all of the Social Entrepreneurs of the Year for 2013.
“This is a wonderful recognition of Kristin and the work that Inveneo is doing around the world,” said Mark Summer, Inveneo co-founder. “Combining social impact and financial sustainability is the core of our model, and it’s fantastic to receive this kind of acknowledgement from the Schwab Foundation.”
As a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur, Kristin joins a privileged community of 234 social entrepreneurs from 59 countries who are fully integrated into the events and initiatives of the World Economic Forum.
“This award recognizes the critical role that technology and connectivity can play in designing solutions that drive social and economic impact in underserved communities, “ said Peterson. “There is no more critical peer review than that of the Schwab Foundation and it’s an honor to have Inveneo recognized in this way. This is a substantial opportunity for Inveneo to connect with like-minded social entrepreneurs as well as the powerful network of top leaders from government and industry present in the Schwab Foundation and the World Economic Forum.”
